To check radical Islamism, Tajikistan cops shave 13,000 men's beards

Tajikistan police is reported to have shaved nearly 13,000 men's beards and closed more than 160 shops selling traditional Muslim clothing to check "foreign" influences.

A report by Al Jazeera on Thursday said police in the central Asian Muslim-majority country also convinced more than 1,700 women to stop wearing headscarves in measures seen as the secular leadership's efforts to prevent influences from neighbouring Afghanistan.

Last week, Tajikistan's parliament banned Arab-sounding names, and marriages between first cousins, otherwise allowed in Islam.

Last year, Tajikistan's Supreme Court banned the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan - its only registered Islamic political party - following months of violence which the government blamed on radical Islam. President Imomali Rakhmon, who has been ruling since 1994, is likely to ratify the new laws which seek to promote secularism and discourage foreign influences. Rahmon's current term ends in 2020.

Rakhmon, 63, who was a state farm boss in the Soviet era, has gradually consolidated his power during 23 years of rule over the predominantly Muslim nation of eight million that went through a 1992-97 civil war in which tens of thousands died.

Tajikistan's parliament is also considering a proposal to allow Rakhmon to run for an unlimited number of terms, cementing his grip on power as others have done in the Central Asian region.

The main opposition force, the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan, failed to win any seats in parliament in the election last March and has since been outlawed by Rakhmon's government, with its leaders accused of plotting a coup.

तर आज देशावर हिंदू महासभेची सत्ता असती

सावरकरांच्या हिंदुत्वावर आरएसएसने कावेबाजपणे मारला डला 

‘द विक’ या इंग्रजी नियतकालिकाने सावरकरांवर विशेषांक काढला आहे. निरंजन टकले यांनी लिहिलेला ‘द लॅम्ब लॉयनाईज्ड’ या शीर्षकाचा मुख्य लेख आणि इतर काही लेख त्यात आहेत. भाजपाचे राज्यसभा सदस्य तरुण विजय यांचाही एक लेख अंकात आहे. ‘द लॅम्ब लॉयनाईज्ड’ या शीर्षकाचा स्वैर अनुवाद ‘सिंह म्हणून सादर करण्यात आलेली एक भित्री शेळी’ असा करता येईल. सावरकरांना झालेली काळ््या पाण्याची शिक्षा, त्यानंतर त्यांनी माफीसाठी इंग्रजांकडे वेळोवेळी केलेले विनंती अर्ज, सरकारने त्यांना माफी देऊन केलेली सुटका आणि त्यानंतर त्यांनी इंग्रज सरकारसाठी केलेले कार्य, असा सारा वृत्तांत या लेखात आहे. महात्मा गांधी यांच्या हत्येत सावरकरांचा मुख्य हात होता, हा जीवनलाल कपूर आयोगाने काढलेला निष्कर्षही टकले यांनी लेखात विस्ताराने चर्चिला आहे. टकले यांच्या लेखात नवे असे काही नाही. या सर्व बाबी या आधीही अनेक वेळा माध्यमांतून आलेल्या आहेत. वाजपेयी सरकारने सावरकरांचे तैलचित्र संसदेत लावले तेव्हा या सर्व बाबींवर विस्ताराने चर्चा झाली होती.  सावरकरांच्या जीवनात अनेक तेजस्वी घटना आहेत, तसे काही कच्चे दुवेही आहेत. सावरकर विरोधक त्यांच्या माफीनाम्याला तसेच नंतर त्यांनी ब्रिटिशांसाठी केलेल्या कामाला हायलाईट करीत राहतात. त्यावर उपाय न चालल्यामुळे  सावरकरवादी या सत्य घटनाचा नाकारित राहतात. सावरकरांच्या चरित्रातील सत्य घटना नाकारल्यामुळे  सावरकरांच्या जीवन चरित्रावरील काळी छाया आणखी गडद होते, हे सावरकर भक्तांना कळत नाही. ते आपला खोटेपणा रेटत राहतात. या गदारोळात सावरकरांचे योग्य मूल्यमापन झालेच नाही.

सावरकर हे व्यवहारवादी नव्हते. ते साहसवादी होते. भावनेच्या अधीन होऊन ते निर्णय घेत राहिले. त्याचा तोटा सावरकरांना आयुष्यभर सहन करावा लागला. गांधी हत्येचा डाग लागल्यामुळे ते काँग्रेसच्या टार्गेटवर राहिले. व्यवहारी राजकारण करता न आल्यामुळे त्यांनी स्वत: उभे केलेले हिंदुत्ववादाचे राजकारण त्यांच्या हातून निसटले. हिंदुत्वावर राष्टÑीय स्वयंसेवक संघाने केव्हा कब्जा केला हे सावरकरांना कळलेच नाही. पुढे सावरकरांच्या अनुयायांनाही ही बाब नीट आकलन झाली नाही. याचे नीट आकलन झाले असते, तर आज देशावर भाजपा ऐवजी हिंदु महासभेची सत्ता असती.  आरएसएस नियंत्रित भाजपाची सत्ता ही आपलीच सत्ता आहे, असा भ्रम सावरकरवाद्यांनी तसेच हिंदू महासभेच्या नेत्यांनी करून घेतला आहे. त्यातून हे लोक जितके लवकर बाहेर येतील, तितके चांगले आहे.

हिंदुत्व हा शब्द सावरकरांनी निर्माण केला. त्याची नीट व्याख्या केली. हिंदुत्वाला राजकीय महत्त्वही मिळवून दिले. तथापि, नंतरच्या काळात आपली सगळी शक्ती त्यांनी महात्मा गांधी यांना विरोध करण्यातच खर्ची घातली. त्यातून गांधी हत्या झाली आणि सावरकर व सावरकरवाद्यांचे राजकारण कायमचे संपले. राष्टÑीय स्वयंसेवक संघाने नेमके याच्या उलट केले. गांधींच्या धोरणांना विरोध असला तरी, उघड विरोध करण्याचे धोरण आरएसएसने स्वीकारले नाही. उलट महात्मा गांधी यांना आपल्या प्रात: स्मरणीय महापुरुषांच्या यादीत स्थान दिले.  याचा परिणाम असा झाला की, बदनामीचा डाग सावरकर आणि हिंदु महासभेवर आला तर त्यातून राजकीय लाभ रूपी फळ मात्र आरएसएसला मिळाले.

सावरकरांचा हिंदुत्ववाद पळवून आरएसएसने संपूर्ण भारतावर ताबा मिळविला आहे, ही बाब प्रत्यक्ष हिंदुमहासभेचे नेते आणि सावरकरवादी विचारवंत यांच्या अजूनही लक्षात आलेली नाही. नथुराम गोडसेने महात्मा गांधी यांची हत्या केल्यानंतर आरएसएसने त्याच्यापासून स्वत:ला दूर केले. नथुरामचा आरएसएसशी काहीही संबंध नाही, असे आरएसएसच्या वतीने जाहीर करण्यात आले. हा धोरणीपणा हिंदू महासभेला दाखविता आला नाही. महात्मा गांधी यांची हत्या होऊन आता ७0 वर्षे होत आलेली आहेत, तरीही हिंदू महासभेचे लोक सुधारायला तयार नाहीत. मोदी सरकार सत्तेवर येताच नथुराम गोडसेचे पुतळे उभारण्याची भाषा हिंदू महासभेचे नेते करीत आहेत. या मागणीपासूनही आरएसएसने लगेच स्वत:ला दूर केले आहे. मा. गो. वैद्य यांनी खास निवेदन काढून नथुरामचे पुतळे उभारण्याच्या मागणीला विरोध केला. या पासून तरी हिंदू महासभा आणि सावरकरवाद्यांनी काही बोध घ्यायला हवा.

ISIS militant Ali Saqr al-Qasem publicly executes his own mother in Raqqa after accusing her of 'apostasy'

LONDON: In a shocking low even by the standards of the Islamic State, a militant has publicly executed his own mother after accusing her of apostasy.

The activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RIBSS) said 20-year-old jihadi Ali Saqr al-Qasem shot his mother Lena, 45, in the head with an assault rifle in front of a large crowd.

Lena al-Qasem is understood to have been accused of apostasy - a crime that usually means leaving one's religion but in practise is used by ISIS as a justification for murdering anybody who doesn't support or speaks out against the terror group.

The exact charge against Ms al-Qasem was "inciting her son to leave the Islamic State and escaping together to the outside of Raqqa", according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights.

The UK-based conflict monitor said Ali Saqr al-Qasem had reported his mother to his ISIS superiors, who then sentenced her to death and ordered him be the one to kill her.

The Observatory said hundreds of people turned out to watch Ms al-Qasem's execution.

It is not known why her son was given the task of killing his own mother but the reason the execution took place outside Raqqa's post office is because that is where Ms al-Qasem had worked.

The news comes as ISIS' chief spokesman in neighbouring Iraq, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, was reportedly left with severe injuries following an airstrike.

Al-Adnani, who has been singled out as a potential successor should anything happen to ISIS' leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, required initial emergency treatment in the jihadi-held city of Hit after losing large amounts of blood, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said.

He has since been moved to ISIS' Iraq-stronghold of Mosul, MailOnline reported, adding that his condition remains unknown.
